Hello! We finally own our first home and we are so excited to get started on our renovations. I thought this would be a great way for our friends and family to stay updated, so I hope everyone enjoys seeing what we are doing as much as I enjoy sharing it.
I am sure a few people are wondering about the name of the blog, so here is the kind of roundabout way it came to be...
When I first decided to start this blog, I asked my best friend Jamie what she thought I should call it. She basically said "I don't know, but I need a nap." We joked around about how that might be a good name considering how much work needs to be done on our new house, but then dropped the subject (plus we were shopping and then going to a concert so we had other things to do).
The next day, Eric and I (along with his dad - who is awesome for helping us do so much work) had to go to the house and paint the garage doors - this is another story I will share later. So it took around 3 1/2 hours and tons of work to finish the garage doors and we were really tired by the time we were done. Probably not a good time to remember that this is the first project in a list of hundreds...oh well. So we get home, have lunch and then we both fall asleep for almost 3 hours. As I was laying down, I thought "Well maybe Jamie came up with the perfect name for my blog, I definitely need a nap."
Somehow a totally random comment completely fits my life.
Back to the main focus of this blog. I will have more pictures as we go, but I thought I would at least give everyone a chance to see the house. After almost 4 months of waiting, filled with frustration, anxiety, excitement and everything in between, we finally own our first home.
